Ten-Hour
Relay Adventure Race Saturday September 18, 2010
Our "Fall Classic" Storm event, presented in
a unique, exciting and highly social new race
format! Take the fun and laid-back atmosphere
of your favourite 8-hour or 24-hour mountain bike
event, mix it up with the multi-discipline components
of an adventure race, add one of Ontario's top
mountain biking destinations, and the result is
Salomon Storm the Ten; Canada's first
and only relay-style adventure racing event.
The premise is simple. A 10-hour event; a 10km
course, made up of short-distance paddling, mountain
biking and trail running sections, with each lap
combining all the thrills of an adventure race
into roughly one-hour loops. Solo racers attack
their laps individually while teams of 2, 3, 4
or 6 race in pairs; each attempting the course
as many times as possible over a ten-hour period.
Storm the Ten is hosted exclusively at
Kelso Conservation Area in Milton; the GTA's local
haven for all things outdoors. Home to a 50-acre
lake, a 5-lift ski hill, and a fantastic network
of trails lining the Niagara Escarpment, this
gem of a site compacts the best elements of a
classic adventure race into a 980-acre park. Racers
can expect a course layout that is nothing short
of challenging, thrilling, fast and fun!
